He lived on locusts and honey, was sunburned, serious, decent, and dynamic with an impartial and remarkable personality. He prepared Jesus’ coming through his teachings that can be summarized in the phrase "Repent? the kingdom of heaven is near". His celebration became official in the 5th century. According to the word of the Lord "no man was greater than John the Baptist".
